In Śvetambara temples, Jains enter the inner part of the temple to make the offerings themselves, while in some Digambara temples ritual priests make the offerings on behalf of worshipers.
Since the jīnas have already attained nirvāṇa, they are considered to be unresponsive to worship. In this sense they are different than Hindu deities, who can respond to a worshipers prayers. How does a Buddha respond to prayer?
