1. Obtaining plastic granulate with a formulation and processing
conditions suitable for subsequent microwave expansion which
avoids the use of an expanding agent (i.e. pentane).
2. Obtaining adequate foaming of the plastic granulate in terms of
expanded cell size and conformation/shape, cell morphology
and mechanical properties as well as the cushion behaviour of
the expanded samples.
3. Manufacturing an adequate mould needed for the successful
processing of the moulded, 3D-shaped foam products.
