As a post-planting drench treatment to infested peat mix, the
bacterial isolates 9A-14 and 8B-1 significantly increased the percentage
of healthy cucumber seedlings by 173%–273%, reduced
disease severity by 27.3%–45.4%, and increased the fresh masses of
cucumber plants by 146%–167% as compared with the infested
control (Table 2). Post-planting drench treatments of both bacteria
also significantly increased the fresh mass of cucumber plants by
28%–39% as compared with the noninfested control treatment
(Table 2).
