Impact of Drying Method on the Physical Test and the Mechanical Properties of OPB
Considering the strength of board samples, it was found that the drying of microwave drying significantly higher than that of convective drying from Table 1 and 2. The Oven-dry Density and % shrinkage of the board samples at the end of processing was in the range 265-416, 15.42–53.69%, respectively.Table 2 shows the results of Tension, Compression, Shear Strength, static bending and Hardness tests were according to drying method.The results show that an increase in temperature of hot air decreases the drying time and reduces the strength of the board samples. The dried board samples in microwave power level at high power resent the best mechanical properties due to most shrinkage.

This is because microwave drying to excitation of molecular vibrations on higher shrinkage and strength than Convection drying.
