Squad does what so many modern shooter games fail at: It fosters an online gaming environment in which the other human players to your left and right become your greatest assets.
Squad takes the concept of teamwork and within every one of it's features and mechanics, squeezes out every last drop of potential for it.
Booting up Squad and joining a server immediately places you into a position that demands you, the player, communicate and work together with your teammates -- or suffer the fate of defeat.
I could write detailed paragraphs comparing the features and mechanics to other current shooters, but there is no point. Features and mechanics are only a means to an end. Other shooters end up as chaotic messes, with barely any teamwork to speak of that only have boring kit unlocks and shallow, cumulative rank structures to keep you interested. Squad has more teamwork in it's loading menu than most other shooters do in their entire games, and that's on a bad day.
If the feeling of being part of a well coordinated team effort is something that you miss/desire in military shooters, buy Squad and jump into the community. You have found the right game and the right place.
Background: I have been a part of the community since April 2015 and was a Commander backer, and I have played since the Closed Pre-Alpha.
