A knitted garment worn on the upper body, typically with long sleeves, put on over the head.
The same dictionary was used to find the definition of the word ‘jumper’ and the following was found:
A knitted garment typically with long sleeves, worn over the upper body.
So pretty much both mean the same. Yet, over in the US and around Latin America a knitted garment with long sleeves is called a ‘sweater’. On these shores what they call a sweater seems to be called a jumper. Over in Europe we are not too sure whether it is referred to as a sweater or a jumper or something completely different all together. Any ideas? So perhaps ‘sweater’ or ‘jumper’ is determined by geographic location rather than it being a difference in actual styles. If you do know different please do get in touch to let us know, as we’d love to find out.
We are none the wiser and like the sound of both, although we have predominately selected ‘sweater’ to be used on our website. However, one thing you can be sure of is that if you see either ‘men’s alpaca sweaters’ or ‘men’s alpaca jumpers’ by Pacastyle they are of high quality and have been designed to look good on you. We take time in all aspects of our alpaca sweaters to ensure they are high quality and stylish.
