The full stature of mature Asian elephant is usually three meters from ground to the topmost point on its shoulders. The male has a pair of ivory tusks while the female is deprived of the said adornment. In rare exception, however, she can be seen bearing a pair of small tusks. Some males, called “Si-dor.” Can be tuskless. They are often bigger and better workers. Looking at the head of an Asian elephant, one can see two lobes on its forehead, its ear-pads flapping with the upper rims extended level with its forehead, and the trunk ending in a pointed tip to use in grasping.
