An understanding of animal response to helicopters or aircrafts is important in predicting the consequences of the disturbance on the ecology, welfare and behaviour of exposed free kept farming or wildlife animals (Tracey and Flem, 2007). Although some studies reported the effects of aircraft noise on domestic animals as inconclusive, a majority of the literature reviewed indicates that domestic animals exhibit behavioural responses to overflights but generally seem to habituate to the disturbances over a period of time.
