In summary, two synthetic methods including the hydrothermal
method and microwave-assisted hydrothermal method were applied
for the synthesis of CuO crystals on the cellulose matrix. In comparison
to the hydrothermal method, CuO crystals transformed into Cu2O crystals
and Cu2O crystalswith different shapes and sizes were obtained via
the microwave-assisted hydrothermal method. Cellulose was acted as
matrix and reductant in the reaction system. Understanding the influences
of synthetic methods is important to further study the growth
process and mechanism of CuO crystals.
