The thermal stabilities as well as the mechanical and mechan-ical interfacial properties of butadiene rubber reinforced with
nano-CaCO3were investigated. In the experimental results, the
thermal stabilities of the BR/nano-CaCO3composites were sig-nificantly increased as the nano-CaCO3content was increased.
With increasing nano-CaCO3 content, the glass transition
temperature of the composites remained approximately con-stant. Meanwhile, the mechanical interfacial properties of the
BR/nano-CaCO3composites also were increased by the addi-tion of nano-CaCO3as were the tensile strength and elongation.
All of the results indicate that nano-CaCO3is a good candidate
for use as a butadiene rubber-reinforcing agent.
