electrolyte-soaked membranes are 2.2, 1.7 and 0.75V, respectively, for Celgard, PEI-PU and SiO2/PEI-PU membranes. From the
impedance data, the ionic conductivity of the as-prepared SiO2/
PEI-PU composite membranes saturated with electrolyte can be up
to 2.33 mS cm

, which is higher than that of electrospun PEI-PU
membranes (1.47 mS cm1

). The higher ionic conductivity of PEI-PU membranes may
be attributed to the higher electrolyte uptake and the dissociation
of PU to liquid electrolyte[31]. Although the SiO2coating reduces
porosity and electrolyte uptake, the SiO2/PEI-PU membranes
present higher ionic conductivity, which may ascribe the Lewis
acid-base interactions between the SiO2 NP and the electrolyte
polar groups. In addition, the MacMullin number is known to
describe the deterioration of ionic conductivity because of the
