Proceeding from the premise that nothing written can be read as a true meaning,
deconstructionists attempt to discover the intentions of the
author of each and every source or text.
While reconstructionists claim that their process of interrogating or conversing with sources is tantamount to deconstruction,
deconstructionists insist that the differences are substantial. According to deconstructionists,
historians necessarily impose themselves on the reconstruction process and any notion that they can isolate themselves is erroneous.
