1. The scaffold has been erected by qualified and approved personnel.
2. The scaffold has been erected in compliance with the standard scaffold limits or the engineering drawings.
3. The scaffolding is erected in an area and on a surface that is stable, level and has no potential obstructions and electrical hazards.
4. The scaffolding is plumb, level and has sufficient bracing and ties for stability.
5. All tubular and supporting components are installed correctly and there is no visual damage or deterioration.
6. Planking, work and rest platforms are secure and positioned correctly.
7. Ties and stability provisions are appropriate for the intended location and work.
8. Ladder and access arrangements will allow safe personnel movement.
9. The scaffold is marked with a Scafftag Green or Red Tag to indicate the status. A green scaffold tag designates a complete scaffold, safe for use. A red scaffold tag designates a scaffold that is not complete and not safe for use and should include a written explanation of the status.
10. The Work Team Leaders are required to inspect the scaffold prior to use each day to confirm the status.
11. Scaffolding shall be re-inspected and re-approved for use whenever changes are made to the configurations, structure or attachments.
12. Scaffolding must be inspected every 7 days when not being used and always after any severe weather.
13. Periodic inspections shall be performed to ensure that all tags are legible and the scaffold status remains as tagged.
