The ECG Signal Generator function block (Fig. 3) in AJDSP allows visualization of sample normal and abnormal ECG recordings [16,17]. The function also displays the computed average heart rate. Typical characteristics of ECG waveforms like the QRS-complex, P-wave and T-wave segments, and their corresponding range of time intervals can be understood. The estimated heart rates can be related to the diagnosed health conditions. In addition, ECG signal artifacts such as low frequency baseline wandering and high frequency power line interferences that occur during signal acquisition can be observed.
