Child obesity is a condition that merits major attention because it predisposes the child to the risks of premature illness, including cardiovascular, pulmonary and psychosocial conditions as well as the increased chance of premature death as an adult. To this point, there is no completely effective method for treating obesity; however, researchers continue to search for the genetic, physiological and environmental factors that, when properly addressed, may contribute to the development of practical forms of treatment in the future.
