(3) The NNCC system is used for base-load and peak power production
using nuclear heat with supplemental natural gas.
For base-load operation, the compressed air is heated by a
heat exchanger with heat from the OBMR reactor, the hot
gas exits the NGCC system that produces electricity. If peakpower is produced, natural gas is added to the hot gas after
the nuclear heat exchanger to increase the peak gas temperature
and power levels. This system has unique capabilities
of variable power production with very rapid response for
meeting the demand for small grids where grid size unable
to ensure reliable electric generation and quality electricity.
