In the SLC facility, the Medical Intensive Care Unit
(MICU) is a leader in employee fulfillment and
patient satisfaction. The unit is acknowledged for
its team-centered approach to the consistent delivery
of high-quality patient care. Reinforcing this
interdisciplinary team approach has been a unifying
set of core values and a collective sense of
collegial support among healthcare providers. Unit
members put aside their individual ego, share a
common sense of mission, and willingly assume
responsibility for the unit’s climate. The result has
been a consistent high level of quality patient care
and increased professional satisfaction in nursing
practice among the healthcare team members.
