It is a crowd-sourced translation service where webtoon fans translate their favorite artwork into various languages to share it with more global audience.

What benefits could I get?

Webtoon Translate is a service where translation and sharing of the comic work is carried out under the agreement of the original writer. The crowd-sourced translation will be serviced through LINE Webtoon, and the contributors’ profiles will also be shared. The contributors will be promoted to a team manager or some other higher ranked member depending on his or her translation activities or background. Those of you who have displayed differentiated dedication and commitment to quality translations will have an opportunity to make a debut as an official translator of LINE Webtoon.
Can I join as a team?

There are two types of translation editing available. First is the Wiki Translation which is open to any crowd, and the second is the Team Translation which is open to only certain groups. If you are an advanced translator with lots of experience, you can apply as a team manager to create your own translation team. Once you’re approved as a team manager by the service admin, you can invite members to your team and start translating under your team's name.
Please note that you must have translated at least 1,000 sentences on our service to be eligible as a team manager. After meeting the requirements, send an e-mail to [e-mail] to apply for the manager position with the following information: 1) "My Profile" URL address, 2) the language of your choice, 3) other translating experiences, if you have any. We will determine your eligibility based on the information you provide as well as your activities on Webtoon Translate service.

This service is intended to spread and share enjoyable webtoons (web comics) to more global audience. We sincerely ask you to make the translation in a way to best carry both the intention and nuance of the original work, so that your fellow audience can truly connect with the original comic. Please make sure to use the font typeface, size, and stroke similar to the original work during the editing process in order to avoid hurting the origin
