A stiff closed-loop displacement-controlled testing machine was used to test the panels. An electronic data acquisition system linked to a displacement transducer and a personal computer were used to monitor and to record the complete load/displacement history. The displacement was measured by a single displacement transducer, positioned at the center of the bottom face of the panel (Figure 1). The testing procedure follows the outline given a by EN14488-5. Each panel was tested using the span length of 0.50 m. A constant loading rate was applied on the panel throughout the test. The speed of the cross head of testing machine was set at 1.0 mm per minute. Two experienced technical personnel operated and monitored the equipment throughout the test duration.
