The B'ghwe Karen dialect is related to the Skaw dialectmore than to the Wa, as might be expected because of their physicalWa-like appearance. These languages are not mutually unintelligible, although they sound somewhat alike. Their linguistic affiliations with other languages are not clearly established. They are non literate. The men speak Shan well and use this language insteadof Lao-Thai in dealing with other people around them. A few of them can speak Burmese. None of the women are bilingual
