McLaren enjoyed another year of growth and plans to increase its model range in the near future.
A total of 1,649 McLaren vehicles were delivered worldwide last year, an increase of 18 percent over 2013. According to the British automaker, strong demand for McLaren’s core model range followed the debut of the 650S Coupe and Spider models at last year’s Geneva Motor Show. Those models contributed to 1,401 of last year’s deliveries while 248 P1 exotics were shipped to customers globally.
Along with the growth in sales, the company invested £91.8m ($144.5 million) into R&D and expects to remain consistent this year with a similar investment.

In 2015, McLaren celebrated the launch of its Sport Series models, the 570S and 540C. Now, the British automaker promises that a second body style will be introduced in 2016, followed by another in 2017. That means at least two new McLaren models will debut in the next two years and McLaren is forecasting that its Sport Series models will help more than double its production to around 4,000 units annually. The company also expects to produce the final and 375th example of the McLaren P1 this year.
