SBA-15 is a highly ordered material possessing a regular two
dimensional hexagonal array of channels. This material typically has a
pore diameter of the order of 7–10 nm. This study examines the
potential of ethylenediamine functionalized SBA-15 as a new
adsorbent for removing of lead and cadmium ions from water and
wastewater samples. In addition, this report describes a simple and
fast method for preconcentration of lead and cadmium ions prior to
determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry.
