Bon Appetit has a commitment to ongoing innovation in product development and customer service. Despite favourable blind tastings across the company’s food range, negative feedback was being received on the previously adopted breaded product packaging. This poor customer perception had the potential to negatively impact on both company performance and brand image. As a result, the KTP project embarked on an extensive re-packaging and re-branding exercise to enhance customer confidence and the vending experience. This paper will detail the considerations made in re-developing functional food packaging for use in hot food vending, highlighting the improvements gained from optimising the range of existing technologies available.
