ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to study the university student in learning English language tips. This is very important because we have entered globalization era where many foreigners come to Thailand for certain purposes such as the business, politics and so on because of this importance. The role of English native speakers as a person who hoped to help the university students to learn English tips and learn English language more naturally holds an important part in the successful learning process. On other hand, there are still some problems in learning English language. The problems are speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The research design of this study was descriptive qualitative cases of studying. The study was conducted at Roi-Et Rajabath University Selapum district, Roi-Et Province at library Learning Centre. Questionnaire and interview were utilized. The research subject were 32 students from different majors on the university who are learning English language tips. The result of this study showed problems of learning language in the number of students, inhibition, mother tongue use, students English grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. We have some solutions to overcome those problems. The researchers had divided the subjects into several group works and asked them students to keep speaking in English as long as they can.
1. This can boosted student’s motivation.
2. We asked the students to minimize the using Thai language.
3. In addition, we conducted English grammar classes once a month and corrected the mistake directly and give some tips to improve English language.
In terms of students problem in learning speaking, taught by the research, they got problems on : inhibition(37,5%), nothing to say (31.25%),mother tongue use(25%),low participation(3.13%) and the problem with English pronunciation(3.13%).To solve the their problem dealing with inhibition, they practiced more speaking with their friends, to improve the vocabulary mastery. In terms of nothing to say, they used learning English language tips to improve their reading skill, listening skill, speaking skill and writing skill. In solving their problems related to mother tongue use, they forced themselves to use English during learning English language tips, they opened the dictionary as often as possible. Moreover, in term of low or uneven participation, they motivated themselves by consulting their friends directly. These solutions help learning English language with the problem pronunciation. The researchers concluded that there were still some problems faced by English learners in speaking, listening, writing and reading skill. Although, they had done solutions suggested in the theory. Therefore we have to think well about learning proper English language tips taught by English language learners.
