I. INTRODUCTION
With the development of high frequency radiosurgery
generators and their inclusion in hospitals all around the world,
a debate is going on about what kind of generator is best:
radiorurgical or electrosurgical. In order to answer such a
question it is imperative that we take into account all the facts
that could lead a surgeon to choose one technology over the
other. Both electrosurgery and radiosurgery imply the
application of electrical currents on biological tissue in view of
cutting or coagulating (mixed functions are also used) [1],[2].
This form of surgery has its advantages and disadvantages,
allowing the surgeon to perform complex interventions that
would be otherwise impossible [3], but smoke from the
incisions presents a risk, just like fire hazards and the high
probability of electromagnetic interference with other medical
devices in the operating theatre [4].
