The minimal inhibition concentration (MIC) of CSWK and
of OligoCS was determined by testing the sensitivity to a wide
range of bacterial indicators according A 96-well plate containing two-fold serial dilutions
of chitosan samples with a known amount of both chitosan samples.
All of the samples were inoculated under aseptic conditions
with 50 ll of the inoculums of bacteria and incubated at 37 C
for 24 h. The changes in cells number of each indicator tested were
measured using a microplate reader at a wavelength of 600 nm.
The control only contained nutrient broth and 1% potassium lactate
without OligoCS.
