Including three animals where the number of
items was recorded on the autopsy notes (n=1–9 items)
the average number of items was 7.7 ± 13.9 items per individual (n=35), but this
probably underestimates the actual value, as the autopsy notes report
plastic was abundant in the other five individuals.
