PREREQUISITES TO EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT
Orderly classrooms do not magically happen. They must be carefully planned, and teachers
who are caring, firm, and committed to the students and their learning are less likely to have
management problems than their less professional peers (Marzano, Marzano, & Pickering,
2003). In this section, we examine three prerequisites to effective management:
