38.14 percent of the people polled by Nida Poll of the National Institute of Development Administration agreed with the rejection of the draft constitution by the National Reform Council because the draft is undemocratic.
In the meantime, 29.76 percent of the respondents disagreed with the NRC’s decision by 135:105 votes against the draft charter. 32.10 percent had no comments claiming that it was the right of the NRC to make its choices.
Nida polled 1,277 samplings about the NRC’s vote on Sunday August 6.
Asked how they felt about the vote outcome, 29.68 percent said they were indifferent to the outcome; 17.07 percent said the NRC should not vote down the draft charter and should let the people to decide; 13.70 percent said some of the contents in the draft were undemocratic and 13.23 percent admitted it was better for the draft to be voted down than to spend 3 billion baht on referendum.
9.63 percent said they regretted that the draft was rejected while 8.38 percent said it was good that the draft was voted down.
