There are so many advantages for students living in a university dormitory. They will receive convenient facilities and services that are available in dormitories. They will not distract by such things like buying furniture, cooking meals, cleaning room and paying monthly bills. They will have more time for studying. Another advantage of living in dorms is security. Any dormitory has guards who maintains security in the dormitory’s area and protect its students and their poverty from danger and disorder such as burglary or housebreaking. This helps students feel more peace of mind, so they can concentrate on their study better. In dormitories, students can make many friend with other students who study in their university. This helps students especially freshmen and sophomores forget their homesickness and improve their study. For example, when having hard homework, freshmen can easily ask older students who live in the same dormitory with them for some meaningful advice. Living off-campus, however, also have many advantages. Firstly, students can expand their relationships with local people and have many exciting experiences outside the campus such as lifestyles and customs of local people. They also can join events or celebrations generated in their community. Furthermore, they do not have to abide the rules, terms and regulations that students living in dormitories must obey. They also can support their lives through incomes from their part-time jobs which really difficult to students live on-campus who are restricted by given amount of time.
