Vernacular houses and communities (VHC.) express the ways of life of the residents and the social and cultural aesthetic phenomena in a particular local context. (Temiyabandha, 1998: 55-56) However, economic and social development in Thailand changes rapidly in VHC toward urbanization and modern lifestyle. In order to build a new house in modern lifestyle, this has resulted in the disappearance of vernacular houses in many areas of the country. The adoption of modern development has influenced changes in ways of life, cultural and social values of living in the environment of the local residents, particularly, in the northeastern of Thailand (or I-san).
