Hello Sebastian
Thought I would give you a quick update . I am leaving for Thailand on the 25th and arriving in my village on the 27th . After constant promises the mother was going to meet me I've been told she is not going to be there . The reason for this excuse is she is in a contract in Dubai and she has no money (what a surprise ) . So I'm afraid it's another wasted trip and I will be no further forward after all the hard work you have done , and arranging my children to start school in January . If you have any suggestions it would be gratefully appreciated
Yours sincerely Graham White
Sorry about that.
Did she sign the contract(s) yet?
Are you still coming even if she is not here?
Do you think you can still leave without her? She has to do what is called a travel permit. But maybe we can arrange one with a power of attorney.
I don't think you want to blame us but you probably understand we can't be responsible for that.
A travel permit will be requested if you leave Thailand with children.
If she is looking for money, this is your decision.
If I were you, I would threat them TO STOP ANY OTHER AMOUNT YOU GIVE THEM.
But that means you have to bluff probably. You can say that if you can't leave with your children in September, you will stop any payment to them and they will stay here. You won't take them back to UK and that is bad for them.
This is up to you to decide what is your strategy as we do not know her. But you do have to do something. Do not pay excessive amounts and do not let them win.
Another way is to give them whatever they want now, in order to get back your children in UK. Once in UK, you stop paying them because you say that you had to pay more for her to come back from Dubai or whatever you want to say.
This is your game. You know them. An airplane from Dubai, roundtrip is maybe 20,000 baht. If I were you, I would pay it just to stop this and have your children.
You decide.
