Therefore, a serious trade imbalance will be expected to occur in the vehicle
manufacturing industrial sector. Especially, the newcomers will be positioned
as consumer-oriented countries rather than suppliers due to their lack of
industrial structures despite of their cheap resources. This means that ASEAN
headquarters have to activate some encouragement programmer to support the
take-off of these countries. It seems to be realistic that these countries play
important roles to stimulate further industrial activities in the ASEAN-China
region if their industrial structures become appropriate for contributing to
vehicle manufacturing in this area.
