Capaneus is Damien Hirst's latest work, which was on display last week at White Cube during Miami's Art Basel. Hirst was inspired by the phases and characters in Dante Alighieri's 'Divine Comedy, and Capaneus is just one of the artworks from the Entomology series that Hirst has been working on for several years.
The artwork consists of hundreds of varieties of beetles and insects adhered to household gloss paint which are then arranged into a intricate geometric pattern - and with the inclusion of some very large spiders, the artwork is definitely not for the faint of heart!
