Work Environment Safety and Health
General Associate Safety
It is the policy of SW & Sons to provide a safe, healthy, clean, and well-maintained work environment for associates and visitors. It is the responsibility of all associates, temporary associates and subcontractors to ensure this policy implemented effectively and continuously.
You MUST notify your supervisor, maintenance technicians, HR personnel, or management about hazards, broken/out-of-order equipment & assets, unwanted/poison pest, dirtiness, or/and are encouraged to participate on the safety, risk-prevention, 5-S discussion or committee.
Fire Safety
In case of fire, the alarm in the building will sound with a unique loud continuous noise. All associates must leave the building immediately at any EXIT door. Once exit the building, everyone, including temporary workers, must assemble for head-count at the front car parking area, exactly in front of the building main entrance.
Number of all associates, temporary workers or subcontractors, working on that day or that shift must be fully counted by the Fire Marshals/Fire Officials if rescue operation is needed. The highest rank officer or manager will be the leaders to lead the head count and report to the Fire Marshals/Fire Officers if the fire occurs.
There will be a fire training or drill at least once a year, without advance notice, to prepare for readiness when an actual fire event occurs.
OSHA Requirement
All job-related injuries or illnesses must be reported to your supervisor or manager immediately, regardless of severity. In case of serious injury, an associate’s reporting obligation will be deferred until circumstances reasonably permit a report to be made. Failure to report an injury or illness may preclude or delay the payment of any benefits to the associate and could subject SW & Sons USA, Inc. to fines and penalties.
A failure to report such “considerable” injuries or illnesses to HR Officer/Managers will result in severe penalties, evaluation, as well as termination of employment.
Safety rules and regulations will be issued or modified from time to time and will be effective immediately. Rules and regulations will be distributed to associates and posted on the associate bulletin board. Safety first!
All occupational illnesses must be recorded regardless of severity. Occupational injuries must be recorded if they result in death, one or more lost workdays, restriction of work or motion, loss of consciousness, transfer to another job, or medical treatment.
