Very interesting thread. While I would not say exercise depressed me, I can relate to the feeling of futility. I always saw exercise as kind of a necessary evil in the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. Never really experience endorphin high from exercise. Recently though I have been doing core workouts to help my back pain. My doctor said I have severe osteoarthritis in the lower back or as she put it "your hips are strong, but your back is a mess" Anyway I always hated core exercises, but now while I do not actually look forward to them, I do appreciate that my back feels better and that allows me to participate more in activities I enjoy, such as plein air painting. I do also like feeling stronger from weight training. I know cardio is good for me but I need to watch a dvd while on the treadmill to make it palatable.
