The causal link with highest mean score was between rarely studies and exam failure at 4.27; the lowest mean score was between biased teaching and physical sickness at 1.47. The network was constructed according to inductive eliminative analysis in which causes are added in order of mean rating, and each network was checked for the number of participants endorsing the entire network at an average level of over 4. If a participant had an average level of endorsement of the entire network of over 4 then he/she would be considered to endorse the entire network. The order of entry of causal links into the network is given in Table I, with the percentage of participants endorsing the entire network.
