Unbeaten welterweight Frankie Gavin insists he is ready to put Amir Khan in his place once the latter has tackled Floyd Mayweather next year.
Despite losses against Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia Khan is set to face Mayweather in the spring, but without any hope of success, according to Gavin.
British and Commonwealth welterweight champion Gavin, who sparred with Khan as Great Britain team-mates in their amateur days, believes he has the tools to increase Khan's pain - should a fight ever materialise.
"I think I'm at Khan's level now," Gavin said. "No disrespect to him, because he's a great fighter. But he's on the decline. He's not the fighter he was. He's not the fighter who beat Marcos Maidana.
"We saw that in his last fight, against Julio Diaz. I think I could beat Khan now, most definitely.
"Some people will say 'no chance', because of his speed. But I'm not a bad puncher myself and if I hit him on the chin, anything can happen with Khan.
