It was another fine, sunny day in Namimori. Students walking to their schools, adults going to work- a daily thing here. A certain young boy, Sawada Tsunayoshi, was walking to Namimori High with his always present friends, Yamamoto Takeshi and Gokudera Hayato. "Why are you here? I'm the 10th's right-hand man." complained Gokudera.
"It's more fun when we're all together." replied to baseball-loving boy.
As they neared the gates of the school, a Disciplinary Committee member was out patrolling again. "They're out again?" wondered Tsuna.
Gokudera mumbled, "We can't get any freedom 'cause of them..."
"What about them?" asked a dark haired girl who walked up to them and made them turn.
"Kiku-san!"
She tilted her head ans smiled, "Who were you referring to?"
"No one..."
"Hey, you people. How long are you going to crowd there?" said a familiar voice.
As the four turned around, they saw the ever so serious Hibari Kyoya, the leader of the Disciplinary Committe. His steel blue eyes gazed upon them, "Class will start soon. I'll bite you to death."
"Ah- yes! Sorry!" panicked Tsuna as he ran to the building. Following him were Yamamoto and Gokudera.
His gaze fixed onto Kiku. "What about you?"
"I'll be going, too." replied the girl. She bowed then headed off to her own classroom.
Classes were always pretty repetitive. Yamamoto would make random, correct guesses, Tsuna would suffer and gaze at Sasagawa Kyoko and Gokudera would be a delinquent, yet intelligent. Kiku, one year higher, would just take down notes.
As lunch break came, everyone would be relieved. Kiku had a brother in the Disciplinary Committee named Akio, but he was absent. Because of her relationship with him, she had certain ties with the said committe. She headed to the reception office to tell Hibari. She knocked, then slowly opened the door. Hibari looked up from what he was reading and said, "What?"
Kiku answered, "Akio-nii is absent."
"I know that, herbivore."
"Do you need anything? I mean...he's not here today, so you might need help..." said Kiku.
"No. Now, don't disturb me, herbivore." growled Hibari as he passed her and walked towards the staircase. He'd usually sleep on the school rooftop. Kiku watched on, and then walked away. Kiku was allowed to do errands for the Committee, so on certain times, she'd patrol the school. Everything seemed to be fine. It was like any other typical school. Kiku didn't spend her entire break patrolling...she also went outside to enjoy the fresh air and wind. Class was about to start- in around ten minutes actually, so she went off to her classroom.
Suddenly, as Kiku moves along, Lambo comes running down the hallway. Nyahahaha! was his usual laugh. Kiku didn't know how that little cow child got to Namimori, but it was frequent for this to happen. Soon after, Tsuna and his "followers" came by, running in the hall. As they passed Kiku, she put her hand on his shoulder. "No running in the halls, Tsuna." she reminded.
"Ah, yeah. Sorry." replied Tsuna as he smiles, "but I need to catch Lambo."
Kiku stayed silent for a moment then said, "I'll let you off for now...I don't think Hibari will find out yet...for now only, ok?"
He nodded and dashed off. Kiku looked at them from a distance, when someone's hand is felt on her shoulder. "Ah!" exclaimed Kiku.
As she turned around, she felt the cold gaze of the prefect. Bingo. Hibari was there. She was just a few inches shorter, but she felt like he was way taller. "Um, yes, Hibari?"
"Class is starting soon, and you're not in your class. You'll be late, herbivore."
"Oh, yeah. I was on my way, but..." mumbled Kiku.
Hibari's eyes narrowed. She said with a smile and bowed once again, "I'll be going now."
She didn't want to be late, so she ran, forgetting about the rules.
"No running in the halls, herbivore."
"Sorry!!!" she called out.
As she was no longer in sight, Hibari sighed and a slight smile formed on his lips, "Silly herbivore..." he thought as he turned around and headed off to his next destination.
