4.2. Affected anatomical site
Three-hundred and twenty-seven children had burns involving multiple anatomical sites, while 72 children had burns involving only one anatomical site. Forty-two patients had burns involving only the face, 23 only one hand, and seven one foot. Of the distinct anatomical sites of injury, the face was affected in 161 children or 40.4%, the neck in 76 children or 19.0%, the anterior trunk in 138 children or 34.6%, the posterior trunk in 57 children or 14.3%, one arm in 117 children or 29.3%, both arms in 54 children or 13.5%, one hand in 43 children or 10.8%, both hands in 40 children or 10%, perineum in 18 children or 4.5%, one leg in 65 children or 16.3%, both legs in 68 children or 17%, one foot in 15 children or 3.8%, and both feet in 12 children or 3% (Table 4).
