The influence of filter elements on the performance of the buck converter has been studied. The influence of filter elements are accessed graphically and the same verified experimentally. This paper gives better insight into the performance of buck converter, when the filter elements are varied. This analysis also gives insight into transient state and steady state performances of the Buck converter when the filter elements are varied. By properly selecting inductor and capacitor values, the ripple content can be minimized. The proposed design is better in terms of less ripple content, good regulation, good efficiency and excellent transient properties.
