Formatting the page for the abstract is pretty straightforward. The word "abstract" should be centered, one inch from the top of the page. The actual abstract, however, should be left justified. This is the only paragraph of the paper that is not indented. The abstract should be concise, accurate, and reflect the content of the document. The abstract should be only one paragraph in length. No paraphrasing or direct quotations should be included. Please be advised, that not all professors and instructors require an abstract for home work assignments. It is always a good idea to check with your professor about some of the optional formatting features associated with APA formatting
