For metanarrative taught in history class, time is
always chronic, continuous, and linear.
In our daily lives, we might feel like time is linear
because there’re yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
It’s true for most people, but for some people, time
is ruptured. Some might feel like they are locked in
time. For some old people, they might even feel like
their time is in circle. Thus, time is relative.
Therefore, we sometimes see postmodern
literature with lots of use of flashback and
fragments.
