The Commission recently presented its latest proposals on how to improve its EU Anti-dumping policy in practice. The Commission's anti-dumping services intend to shorten the procedure for 'Sunset' reviews, i.e. the reviews taking place after 5 years in order to confirm whether or not the anti-dumping duties in place for a certain product should be extended.
In an internal commitment, the Commission intends to reduce the 'Sunset' review period from 12 months to 6 months. A new simplified questionnaire is currently being prepared for sunset reviews in which the number of questions to industry, and the burden of detailed documentation requirements, could be reduced. Due to the resignation of the Commission, however, this intended reform will be delayed.
So far it is only envisaged to shorten the time taken for 'Sunset' reviews. The initial period of launching an anti-dumping investigation is not affected, and will remain 15 months. - See more at: http://www.orgalime.org/news/wto-trade-policy-instruments#sthash.OR30bOdf.dpuf
