After the completion of the reaction, the product was filtered to
remove the solid catalyst. The biodiesel (FAME) and glycerol
phases were allowed to settle and were then separated. The FAME
obtained after transesterification was heated using a hot plate and
distilled to remove excess methanol and moisture present in it. The
purified FAME was then stored for further use. All the experiments
were done in triplicate and the average error was within 2%. The
average values were used in further analysis.
