More Than 90 Percent of Voters Favor Background Checks for Gun Buyers
According to a poll by Quinnipiac University, 92 percent of voters favor universal background checks on gun purchases.
"Americans are all in on stricter background checks on gun buyers and on keeping weapons out of the hands of the mentally ill. But when it comes to ´stricter gun control,´ three words which prompt a negative reflex, almost half of those surveyed say "hands off"," Quinnipiac University Poll´s assistant director explains.
Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,446 registered voters nationwide with a margin of error of +/- 2.6 percentage points. The interviews took place between June 24 and June 30.
