Of course, I like all members in my family. But, as you know, everybody has his or her favour to someone in his or her family. For me, favourite person in my family is my father.
He’s quite tall, about five feet and ten inches in height. He’s in his mid-sixties, but he looks younger than his actual age. He’s very athletic and rather stout. He’s bright eyes and dark eyebrows. Although he isn’t very handsome, many people like him because of his smiling and kind heart.
My father is a good-tempered man. Having a profound belief in Theravada Buddhism, he lives calmly and contently as Buddha said. He’s kind and sympathetic towards the poor and needy and always gives them food, clothes, money, other useful things in charity. He’s a strong social conscience, so he loves to carry out social work to promote the welfare of people suffering from social deprivation. My dad is obliging, cooperative and good at speaking, so he can make friends easily with everyone he meets.
In his leisure time, he reads books of both English and Myanmar. As his English is so good, he always helps me with my English. As he’s an ex-lecturer of Math in Monywa Institute of Economics, he also helps me with difficult math problems. Not only does he make me read books of all sorts but also he advises me how to choose the worthwhile books. He not only helps me with my studies, but also guides me to become a good member of human society. My father is the person I like most in my family ’cos he makes me enhance my life by cultivating the habit of making self-discipline. He usually tells me to be polite, industrious, initiative, and patriotic and to be a good citizen. Thanks to him, I’ve made myself positive changes.
As I’m the only child of his, I’ve got a pile of love and care from him. He’s very understandable to me. Therefore, I love him and always obey him. And he’s also a dutiful son ’cos he takes care of his parents’ living and health. I find him a very patient, hardworking, sincere and honest...
