This weekend I am quiet at home preparing to travel late Wednesday night to Shanghai for some work and some holiday. I am a consultant and work mostly in China: in Thailand I am "retired" and do not work. As it is the holiday season with two holidays coming up my wife can travel with me. As usual to China it is a night flight 01.55 out of BKK and 0700 into Shanghai.
You have quite varied tastes and also quite some education. I learnt French language in school then Dutch and German languages when I lived and worked there. I also worked in France for 4 years. Somhow I find it difficult to learn Thai.
Yes I was born just after the end of WW2 so my generation is marked by that terrible war. I grew up in a family where my grandmother's brother was lost in Singapore when the Japanese invaded: literally lost and never seen again. My uncle was an aircraft mechanic in the Royal Air Force. All the older generation in my family distrusted Germany and my generation was the one that rebuilt the bridges between our people and the German people. I lived in Germany from 1973 - 1974, from 1983 - 1999 and from 2002 - 2006. I lived in France 1983 - 1986 and in The Netherlands from 1976 - 1983. I came to Thailand in 2007. The rest of my life I lived in the UK.
Tonight I am taking it easy upstairs ............just talked to my daughter in the UK on the phone (Skype) ........... my wife downstairs watching TV ............one cat upstairs ............one cat downstairs ............separate because they wanted to fight tonight.
