Fostering high value-added segments such as MICE and medical tourism
Three major programmes to encourage MICE tourism have been put forward: fostering
Korea’s Star MICE brand, global campaigns promoting Korea as a premier MICE destination
and the development of state-of-the art MICE infrastructure. Korea also successfully
hosted the G20 Seoul Summit and the 2nd T20 Tourism Ministers’ meeting. Subsequently,
Korea was ranked 8th in the world and 34th in the Asia-Pacific region for hosting
347 international conferences in 2010.
