If you are interested in history you'll want to visit the Jim Thompson House and learn about the silk trade and living the Thai way. Thompson was an interesting man and his contribution is important. His home is now a museum that you tour with a docent in small groups learning the culture of living in Thailand, how and why certain constructs are used in homes. Well worth your time to go here!
This is a small villa with a few wooden houses (one of them bigger than others , i.e. 150m^2).
It is not a historical place (has been built after the WWII) and contains a few broken Budhas and personal collections of this normal American who has been disappeared in Malaysia (killed? died?). I saw nothing special or historical about the place. There are tens of thousands of older and nicer houses in Thailand than this.
